What is the mission of The Perlman Foundation?
The mission of the Perlman Foundation is to bridge support gaps by assisting lower income children and families and charitable organizations that are working to improve communities throughout the United States. We seek to empower individuals and organizations by providing direct grants as well intangible services that positively impact beliefs, attitudes, emotions and confidence.
What are the Foundations scholarships and grant making priorities?
The Perlman Foundation's priorities are to assist individuals living in low income communities owned and operated by PK Management and GH Capital. Current states include Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
Is the Foundation's charitable giving limited to specific people or areas?
The Foundation's main focus reflects its original mission of improving the lives of individuals who reside in section 8 properties managed by PK Management. The Foundation supports other charitable organizations in its communities and believes its greatest impact is in the communities where it has a physical presence.

How can I contribute to the charitable work of The Perlman Foundation?
As a public charity the Perlman Foundation welcomes donations and public support to help further its philanthropic efforts. Monetary contributions are welcome and may be sent via our website or by mail directly to the Foundation office at:

If I donate to The Perlman Foundation, where does my money go?
All outside donations go directly to the programs and grants. The Perlman Foundation overhead is covered from donations by Mr. Gregory Perlman.
There is a specific program that I am interested in supporting, can I give you a restricted donation to be used for that program only?
Yes, restricted donations are allowed but not encouraged. The Foundation prefers unrestricted donations as they allow us to direct funds to the programs and individuals with the greatest needs.
What are the giving levels and minimum gift amounts?
The Perlman Foundation gladly accepts donations in any amount; however we cannot process online gifts below $1.
The Foundation accepts donations of any amount, but for your convenience we offer several Planned Giving Membership Levels*:
One Time Donations- Make a onetime donation in the amount of your choosing.
Automatic Monthly/Yearly Gift- Designate monthly or yearly giving to the foundation to be automatically deducted at a date of your choosing.
A Dollar A Day- Make a quarterly or yearly donation totaling $365.
Can I donate through payroll deduction at my job?
Some workplaces allow you to designate charitable gifts to a nonprofit organization of your choice. Please contact your workplace’s human resources department to see if this option is available through your job.

If I make a donation, how do I get my tax receipt?
In most cases, The Perlman Foundation will mail you a donation acknowledgement letter. If you do not wish to have a letter mailed, you can specify that this letter be emailed to you at the time of your donation.
What is your donor privacy policy?
At no time does the Perlman Foundation share its donors list or information with 3rd parties.
Scholarship FAQ
If I qualify, can I apply for multiple scholarships or grants?
Not at this time. The Perlman Foundation only grants one scholarship per person, per year.
Who reviews my scholarship application?
Applications are reviewed by the scholarship committee, which may be comprised of business leaders, community members and GH Capital/PK Management employees who collaborate on the selection of the recipients.
I wish to nominate a student for the Extraordinary Circumstances Scholarship, how do I become a qualified partner?
Partnership application can be obtained by emailing scholarships@perlmanfoundation.org. It can take 3-4 months for partnership applications to be reviewed. Please plan accordingly. Nomination must be submitted by a qualifying partner, school, or organization.
Do you accept applications for students attending graduate programs?
No, at this time there are no scholarships available to graduate students. That may change in the future, please check back regularly.
Do I have to be currently enrolled at a college or university to apply for a scholarship?
No, but you must be enrolled by the time the disbursements are made in August.
Can I fax my application?
No, applications are only accepted online.
Do I need to send official transcript or can they be unofficial copies?
The official transcript must be sent with the application.
How many hours of community service do I need to complete to be eligible for the scholarship?
Once you are selected to receive the scholarship students must complete 45 community service hours.
Are scholarships offered to non-US citizens?
Scholarships generally are not made to non-US citizens, but request will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
My GPA is under the required criteria. Would I still be eligible to apply for the scholarship?
No, you must meet the minimum GPA requirements, which may vary by scholarship. No GPA exceptions will be made.
If I am selected for an award, how will I be notified and when will I receive the funds?
Award recipients will be notified by phone or email. In addition, scholarship recipient’s names will be posted on the Foundation website. You can expect to receive a check by the end of August. You will receive a letter in the mail if you are not selected for an award.
If I received a scholarship last year, must I reapply or will my award be automatically renewed?
Prior recipients are required to reapply as their situations may have changed. No scholarships are renewed automatically.
What is the scholarship award range?
Scholarship awards vary depending in the need of the student and type of school. Scholarships can be as high as $2,500 per year.
What can the scholarship money be used for?
The scholarship awards assist students with expenses such as tuition, housing, room, board, tutoring, travel, equipment, and other education related expense not covered by financial aid.
